This Christmas was the first year we got a Christmas tree and decorated the house for Christmas. The boys were so excited when we were at the store picking out decorations and they decided that they wanted a tree for their bedroom, too. So, they picked out this little blue one and they couldn’t wait to get home and put ornaments on it.
Skyler is very proud of his tree!
The tree we got for our living room is also quite small but we just don’t have a lot of space in this house.
Dylan was very excited to hang the ornament that he made with Grandma on the tree.
Cody loved taking the ornaments off of the tree! (You can always tell when Dylan picks out Cody’s clothes because they’re always orange)
Skyler & Dylan standing by their stockings on Christmas Eve
We decided that we’d let them open their stockings on Christmas Eve
Some candy & Minecraft mini figures
Mini Ninja Turtle Dreamlights
Rich put a 1 pound Reeses peanut butter cup in my stocking
Rich got some candy and a fun new family dice game in his
Cody went around trying to swipe everyone’s candy
After the boys went to bed we put all of their presents under the tree
Cody and I got to spend Christmas Eve in the emergency room. He woke up perfectly normal, developed a slight cough around 6 pm, we put him to bed around 8 pm, then he woke up around 10 pm coughing and wheezing and with a full blown case of Croup… AGAIN. Knowing how quickly it went from bad to worse last time and that his pediatrician’s office would be closed for Christmas we decided it was probably best just to head straight to the ER and get him the steroids that helped him last time. Poor guy! This isn’t quite how we planned on spending our Christmas Eve/ Christmas. We were there from 11pm-3am but they were able to get him some medicine so that he wouldn’t be miserable all day on Christmas.
Christmas morning!! The boys were very excited to get up early and open presents! Me…not so much. After being up all night with Cody I was exhausted! They managed to drag me out of bed around 8am so that they could rip into those babies.
Opening their first presents…
New ties! Skyler really wanted a green tie and Dylan really wanted an orange one. I was lucky enough to be able to actually find them.
Little scripture based magnets to keep them quiet and busy during Sacrament meeting
Rich saw that I had bought Seahawks jerseys for the older boys so he went and found Cody a Seahawks t-shirt
Skyler was so excited to give me the present that he made at school!
A little gingerbread boy made out of wood and another one that was an ornament with Skyler’s picture on it
Rich got me a Seahawks t-shirt, too.
The boys saw these Lego sets at Costco and begged for them but we told them “No.” Then, very sneakily, Rich distracted them in the store while I went and bought them and took them out to the car without the boys seeing me.
You can tell that he was feeling better!
Cody got a purple tie to match the ones Skyler and Dylan got
Cody got a little magnet set for church too.
Seahawks helmet with jersey
Dylan got some Ninja turtle dominoes
Cody liked ripping the paper off of the presents a little bit at a time
A new little teddy bear blanket
And some Lego Duplos
Skyler was very excited to give Daddy the present that he helped me pick out
A new griddle for making pancakes!
And Dylan helped me pick out a Seahawks hat for him
New cookie sheets for me
And a new candy thermometer
And some new jeans from Buckle
Rich got some new shirts and cuff links and a belt and tie for church
It just wouldn’t be Christmas without a special breakfast so I made my boys some cinnamon rolls
As you can see, they were pretty happy about that!
After they ate breakfast we had one last present for them to open…
New tablets!!! We knew that once they had them in their hands they wouldn’t want to play with anything else so that’s why we saved them for last.
We had Christmas at Grandma’s house a few days later once Bob & Denise got home from Louisiana, where they spent Christmas with Brian & Denise’s family.
Opening presents with the cousins
And a yo-yo
Cody got a new V-tech toy
A Jake & the Pirates toy for Dylan
A really nice Dutch oven for me!!
A hot wheels toy for Skyler
Bob’s favorite game!
Noah got some books from us.
EJ got a game from us
Hannah got some Legos from us
Cody loves his little turtle from Grandma
Hannah & Skyler
Trying to get a picture of all the kids togehter
After going to Grandma’s house we stopped by Chris & Christie’s house to bring Carson his presents
A Bubble Guppies toy
And they boys were very excited to get to meet Molly, Carson’s new puppy.
Cody was more entertained with getting into Molly’s crate and playing with her toys than actually playing with her, lol
She is so cute!!!
We had a good Christmas overall. I could have lived without the trip to the ER but at least it wasn’t for something more serious.
